Ember — Terms of Service

1. Service

Ember ("the app") is provided by devyan0. By using the app you agree to these terms.

2. Subscription

• Some features require a paid subscription, billed through your Apple ID.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
• Free trials, when offered, convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per App Store policy.

3. License & acceptable use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app and its content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or reverse-engineer the app or its audio content.

4. Content

Ember saves videos that other people created. You are responsible for how you use them. Ember is a personal viewing tool: save only what you are permitted to save, keep it for your own use, and do not redistribute, republish, or sell it. Your use of Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok remains subject to each platform's own terms, and Ember does not grant you any rights to their content. If a creator or platform requires it, delete the saved copy. The captions, transcripts, and categories Ember produces from a video are for finding it again in your own library, not for republication. We claim no ownership of anything you save.

5. AI summaries

Summaries, titles, categories, and the search index are generated by AI from the video you saved. They can contain errors or omissions and are provided for finding and revisiting your own saves — do not rely on them as professional advice (for example medical, financial, or safety instructions), and check the original video before acting on anything important.

6. Shared folders

• Creating a shared folder requires an Ember Plus subscription; joining one through an invite code does not.
• Only share an invite code with people you trust. Members can see each item's source information and shared AI analysis, plus the display profile of the person who added it. Ember's service does not store the media bytes.
• Add only content and display names you have the right to share. We may remove folders used to distribute infringing or unlawful content.
• To report unlawful, infringing, or abusive shared-folder content or request removal, email haeundaekiwi@gmail.com with the folder or item details.
• If the owner's subscription ends, the folder becomes read-only but is not deleted.

7. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party platforms or the content saved from them.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted in the app or on this page.
